ABOUT US
MISSION STATEMENT
Open Doors offers physical and personal care, social and emotional support, recreational and leisure activities, both at the facility and within the community. We believe that all members of the community need to be seen, respected and immersed in as many meaningful experiences as possible. Our program goals are to be involved in our community in a safe and enjoyable way.
HOW WE STARTED
Take one mom (Heather) who wants the best life for her son born with a genetic disability. Take another mom (Kendra) who loves supporting special needs individuals. Take one chance conversation (we believe divine intervention on November 6, 2021) where both moms express their desire for a day program aimed at giving special needs adults the opportunity to live their best lives. Add on one more week after that conversation and the two moms decide to make it happen! The rest is history otherwise known as OPEN DOORS DAY PROGRAM which opened its doors to everyone on March 1, 2022!
Let’s Work Together
OUR FACILITY
We were blessed with a great start at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Simcoe. Amazingly we outgrew their space in just a year but so appreciate all they did for us for our beginning!

We are now located at Simcoe Gospel Chapel. We are so thankful for the opportunity to use this building and all that it offers. From the gym and kitchen to the lunch and family rooms, we have enjoyed using every one of them for crafts, games, and spending time together. Our friends enjoy unwinding in our Sensory Room and the office space has been a great asset to our staff.
